Studio Administrator

Building Block LLC is looking to hire a full time Studio Administrator to run the daily functioning of Building Block Design’s new studio in Chinatown, Los Angeles. An ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, highly dependable, and must enjoy defining and managing the logistics of a busy work space. A positive and collaborative attitude will be key to keeping the studio and BB’s e-commerce business running smoothly and organized each day.

Expectations/General Duties

  • Maintain online and in-store inventory for Building Block web store.
  • Manage and coordinate the frequent shipping & receiving of packages from carriers such as FedEx, USPS, & DHL
  • Responsible for customer inquiries and online based customer relations
  • Represent brand by updating and creatively influencing social media channels
  • Organize and facilitate with studio and brand based events, i.e. research, sourcing, and project organization/scheduling.
  • Produce line sheets and assist in seasonal product launches
  • Manage various studio oriented tasks and errands including: ordering + stocking office/studio supplies; Welcome visitors by greeting, receiving, and signing of deliveries; Organization of samples; Establish and maintain storage, inventory, and archiving system for Building Block product
  • On point to handle challenges as needed

Additional Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must be organized, comfortable multitasking many projects, and prioritizing requests
  • Must take initiative: continuously thinks about ways to improve procedures and quality of office
  • Must be a team player: maintain a professional relationship and ensure effective flow of communication between current/future clients and BB team
  • Must have the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work under strict calendar deadlines
  • Flexible with work hours during peak seasons
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Knowledge of Adobe programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign is a plus
  • Concentration/experience in photography, graphic design, copy writing a big plus
  • Must be over 21 in age
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Retail Intern

Building Block LLC is looking to hire a part time retail intern who is organized, detail-oriented, and highly dependable to join our LA team. This is an intro level internship that offers an opportunity to work in a creative environment alongside the Building Block team. Retail interns will learn how to run a brand specific retail shop and represent Building Block through customer care. An open-minded and enthusiastic attitude is key as this is a multi-tasked internship.

Expectations/General Duties

  • Utilize customer service skills and product knowledge to connect customers with the right product and drive sales
  • Readily adapt seasonal brand stories to the retail setting
  • Be available to operate cash register for regular transactions, perform shipping and receiving duties, stock the floor, perform cleaning duties in-store, and assist in visual displays when necessary
